- The Moneta convenience center takes bagged household waste and recycling. Yard waste and brush aren't part of that, so limbs and leaves mean a longer trip to a full-service site or the county facility in Bedford.
- Brush is only accepted in two short windows a year. Full-service centers take yard waste roughly mid-April to mid-May and mid-October to mid-November. The second window tends to close before the heaviest leaf drop is finished — which is precisely when most people want it gone.
